Once in a Lifetime Brewery Opportunity

Hit me up next time! There's bunch of new breweries popping up. Including one 5 min from the house. They got approved, but it still looks like an old service station so far.

Once in a Lifetime Brewery Opportunity

D Dave, its a 5gal setup, 10 gal electric brew kettle, 7gal HLT, 10 gal igloo mash tun, & RIMS. The control is home made with a PID controller. Currently its only a single pump. I bought another panel for expansion, but never got there. It includes a fairly complete yeast propagation setup...

Once in a Lifetime Brewery Opportunity

Greetings my barley soaked brethren, I hope everyone is staying safe, and brewing lots of great beers, in these trying times. Catchy title huh? Some of you may already know what's coming, as many are familiar with my total loss of taste and smell, while still brewing some good beers. Just ask...

How to regulate pressure on 2 kegs

John, There are various options, but all that I know of require add'l parts. Option 1 is is to use stacked regulators, each set to the appropriate pressure feeding 2 distribution headers, or directly to the kegs. Option 2 would be to set the high pressure on the regulator, and feed an inline...

    Yeast Starters

I almost always chilled and drained off the liquid. I can't say that I made better beer this way, but 2 LBS wins and Brewer of the Year wins were almost all done this way. There seem to be 2 camps that would insist it's better, vs makes no difference. Maybe there is an ExBEERiment (brulosopher )...

    Philly grain and malt symposium

I'm pretty sure used their 6 row a few years ago for my Pre-Prohibition Lager at the Beer Barons ever. I was quite pleased with it. I'll have to look at my recipes and see if I used it in anything else. Philly Homebrew Outlet was stocking it then. This ought to be an interesting event.

    Global Warming and Beer

It seems that a group of scientists were meeting for a beer to discuss climate change impacts, and realized it will have an impact on beer. So they decided to use that fact to help gather support for dealing with climate change. Maybe this will convince more people that it's a real issue, when...

    PSA: Fast Ferment Conical Valve

Leaking collection ball, or fermentor? Mine actually leaked out the molded seam of the ball, on the bottom where it was thinnest. Sprayed a barely visible mist of yeast sediment about 2 feet. There was significant pressure in it. Even filled the body of the valve outside the ball with sediment.

Barley Legal @ War Of The Worts

I don't remember seeing any competition announcement. Were there any other entries allowed? Sounds fishy to me. Wait, no mini-BOS? Who took that?

    PSA: Fast Ferment Conical Valve

Following Brians lead on PSA's: Closing the FastFerment conical collection ball valve while in use... Don't do that. Its not pressure rated and the seam will fail. That is all.

    DIY Quick Carb

Everyone of these setups i see are sitting outside the cooler. Why is that? Makes no sense since you want it as cold as possible for best absorption.

    ISpindel Kit

For those that are interested and are more at home with a clothes iron than a soldering iron, it could be a DIY project night to help you along. If you dont know what a clothes iron is, its used by old people (and lawyers) to get that stuffed shirt look. Or, as i was telling Bob about at the...

    SS Brewtech Brewbucket?

I don't harvest yeast this way either, but I do drain off the yeast sediment after the primary in my FastFerment. It does not have a racking port however, but then it could..... Damn you!
