Improving BIAB efficiency

Hey, gang!

Looking for some tips to improve BIAB efficiency. I hit 70% on my Hefeweizen this weekend but want to get it higher next time around.
Any advice?

Cheers,
Kristina

Aside from finer crush, moistening your grain before crush, and rinsing your grain with a "sparge" step I'm at a loss for advise.

I've thought about doing less than full volume mash and then having a separate pot with maybe 2-3 gallons of about 160 degree water to just dunk the bag in, swoosh it around a little and then dump that wort/liqour into the kettle.

If you have the means to do it I don't see how it could hurt. That or an occasional stir could help too.

What were the details of the batch?

I think @Tim Morea double mills his grain and I think his efficiency is pretty good. With BIAB you don't really have to worry about a stuck sparge, so that might be worth trying.

I was never much for taking notes or calculating efficiency, but I always had good luck with a double grind
