Hey folks! Geoff and Lori here, owners of Zed's Beer in Marlton. Are you a woman who brews (or maybe “brew-curious”)? We’re hosting our first “Pink Boots Big Brew” at Zed’s this year, on March 4 (Sunday). The Pink Boots Society is an international organization that was created to assist, inspire and encourage women brewers and beer professionals through scholarships and education opportunities. The annual collaboration big brew is an opportunity for women brewers to get together, brew together, and support other women brewers.
We’re looking for women to volunteer to come be a part of the brew day – to help with everything from mashing in to sanitizing to pitching. We will start at 8AM and hope to finish up by 5PM - you can join us for all or part of the day. We’ll provide bagels & coffee / pizza & beer to keep us fueled. Feel free to also bring a bottle or two of your own brew, or something fun or amazing you’d love to share with other ladies who love beer.
This year instead of all PBS members brewing the same beer style, we’re all using a new proprietary PBS hop blend from YCH. We’ve decided to do an APA that will let the hop be the star, so we’re modifying our Zed’s in the Universe—Pale 42 recipe and renaming it “Zed’s in Boots—PBS 42”. It will release in April, and we’ll be donating .50 per pint and $1 of every crowler of the PBS 42 we sell thru the month of April to the Pink Boots Society.
To make things even more interesting, this will be the first time we’ve ever had the tasting room open to the public during a brew! So we’ll show ‘em how it’s done. And everyone who participates will go home with some Zed’s swag! Please come out and join us for a fun brew day – email Lori ( lori@drinkzeds.com) with questions or to volunteer.
